Penguin Island this weekend…
Broke Inlet (nr. Walpole). Paddle/Camp. Australia Day weekend 26th-29th Jan 2006
A club paddling long weekend from Thurs to Sun (during the Australia Day holiday).
Drive down Thursday morning (about 4 _ hours from Perth). Meet at the inlet 12 midday for lunch. (Exact meeting place will be advised at briefing) Itinery:
Thursday : After lunch paddle (with all gear) to an island in the inlet. Set up camp. (Approx 5km)
Friday : On the water after breakfast. Day paddle to the mouth of the Shannon river and back. Packed lunch, tea back at camp. (Approx 10km)
Saturday : Day paddle to the mouth of the inlet and back. Packed lunch, tea back at camp. (Approx 16km)

White Water Paddling on the Collie River Monday 9th Jan 06
(Depending on water level) River is graded 2-3. Must have white water experience and short play boat.

This will be a sea kayaking expedition carrying all camping gear in our kayaks.

Walpole at New Year
Coalmine Beach Holiday and Caravan Park has let me know another campsite has become available from Dec 27 to Jan 2. The site fits 2x 2 person dome tents. If anyone else is interested in coming to our New Years Camp then please let me know. Fourteen Swannies are booked on so far. You can come for part of the period if you wish.
