Ningaloo Trip: May 2015

SCC is running a sea kayak trip in the Ningaloo area from Sat 9th to Sat 16th May 2015 for it’s Members. The trip promises to be very interesting, with beach camping in remote areas and snorkelling on the reef areas close to shore.

Currently we are intending to paddle North from Coral Bay to Yardie Creek, but the final plan will be dependant on the number of Members taking part.

Due to the nature of the trip, which will be in a remote area and a long way to travel to reach the start, it is important to have a confirmed number of interested parties at this stage to ensure proper planning can take place. Therefore:

  • Members who want to take part must register their interest by Sat 14th February 2015 and pay a deposit of $50.00, by emailing freokayaker@gmail.com.  Bank details for the deposit will then be provided.
  • The maximum number of the party will be 10. Allocation is on a first come basis.

Please see the Club website, the posters displayed in the Club house for further details
or contact Geoff Palmer 0438 361 417

SCC and WA Juniors Shine at the Nationals!

  • Louis Richardson: Junior Boy Champion

Congratulations to all the paddlers from SCC/WA, everyone paddled well and medals were awarded all round, SCC salutes you and your coach Zlatan. (a more comprehensive write up of the event to follow in a later newsletter).

Social Committee – Volunteers Required

You might have noticed a big drop in Club social events over the last six months, and this is largely due to the retirement of Lisa at the AGM and the remaining two members looking forward to some new energetic people to volunteer.  So if you would like to contribute please contact San at  allyoucaneat74@yahoo.com

Hiring of the Clubrooms – Volunteer Required

We are starting to generate some income by hiring the upstairs area for meetings, training sessions etc. and our Club Secretary has been handling the paperwork involved.  However to reduce his workload we would like to find someone else who would like to take over this job, and maybe help generate more customers too – please contact Robin if you are interested – rfrance@internode.on.net
