Boatshed Repairs Tues 26 & Wed 27 April – next week

The rusted steel columns near the large roller door are being repaired next week, so please expect delays or no access via this door.

Federal Money Granted

We have received a letter from the Federal Government via the Hon Julie Bishop to say that our application for $12,250 to help with our disabled access building modifications has been accepted.  Many thanks to Kerry Hughes for the efforts required to work through the application process.

Party on the Swan – 30th April 8pm

Next weekend at the Club – full details here.

Rob Fry Race – a great event: thanks

The race was a great success – 79 registrations and 71 finished, so a good increase on recent years. We received lots of positive feedback about the running of this year’s race, so many thanks to all those who contributed to the make the day great and our many sponsors, and especially Lee Edwards for coordinating the race again. The report and results can be view here.

Two other big races – Jim Sims & Paddle Challenge

Please consider going to these two races upstream on the Swan:

  • John Sims race (11.5km) at Ascot on 1st May (details here);
  • Paddle Challenge (18km – good training for the Avon) at Hinds Reserve Bayswater on 15th May (details here).

Unite on the Swan

It was wonderful to see lots of Swan members at the big raft up on Perth Water.  Although the world record was not broken we all had a good paddle. There is a great video record of the event here.

Mosman Park Fair

We again setup a store at this event and had lots of visitors enquiring about the Club.  Many thanks to those who came and helped, especially Marion who lasted all afternoon.

Annual General Meeting – May 17th 7pm

Please keep this date free and attend this important meeting – there are lots of small and larger jobs that you could consider volunteering for to help keep the Club ticking over.
