Join us for the winter time trials in the Swan River. Laps from Swan Canoe Club to Chidley Point and back (~3km per lap). Select your distance when you register (3km, 6km, 9km or 12km).

When: Every Thursday, starting 4th May to 20th July 2023 Briefing at 5.20pm. Start at 5.30pm. Sausage sizzle after if you BYO. There will be a BBQ and drinks on the last night of the time trials.

Registration $25.(from June) Open to all craft, abilities, ages, SCC members and non-members.

IT IS COMPULSERY TO BRING A 360 WHITE LIGHT. No LIGHT. NO PADDLE

Guided Paddle for Members

The guided paddle is suitable for all members, especially for those who are new to the club and paddling on Swan River. Your guide will take you out onto the river, and weather/wind dependent will take the group on a paddle that could include Chidley point, Point Walter, the Sandbar and/ or Freshwater Bay.
Contacting the nominated lead for the paddle is essential, so that they know the numbers and paddle experience of those attending. No RSVP may mean that if you turn up on the day you may not be able to join the group.

INTRODUCTION TO WHITE WATER with Geoff Emery

Introduction to White Water Kayaking course

This course is to be confirmed – depending on weather.

This course is designed to introduce paddlers to kayaking on up to grade two white water and for those wishing to learn basic white water kayaking skills. This course is usually run at Walyunga, however location will depend on conditions, in short kayaks with spraydecks. Please contact instructors before the course regarding skill and capsize training in the short kayaks (Short Boat Skills Session) or if you have any questions.

Six hour course $100 for members and $165 for non-members.

Requirements
Must have good basic kayaking skills.
