Coming Events

Friday Night Paddle Bash In full swing.

A great turn up to the first week of paddle bash Friday on 3 Feb. A little bit down on numbers last week, but still a great time to be had by all in attendance. Don't miss out on this great fun club night. If you've joined the club Friday nights are a must – don't be shy, just do it.

Plenty of social paddlers in attendance and plenty of meat heads out there going hell for leather (and don't worry, the question has already been asked, 'Who's the meat head who called you meat heads meat heads?)

A fun social night for paddlers of all levels. A time trial paddle followed by a BBQ dinner ($5 – meat and salads provided). BYO drinks.

Social paddlers, don't be put off by the time trial. This is a fun night. Its not about winning a race (at least not for most of us), its about joining in and having some fun. Points are given for beating your own personal best times.

Prizes are awarded at the end of the season.

Be ready to rumble from about 6 pm.

Pro's and Cons Night – Paddle Bash Friday 24 February 2006 followed by a Party

As if Friday nights aren't enough fun as they are. Friday 24th is a fancy dress night, Pro's and Cons theme (don't ask- interpret it as you please)

Come dressed as a Pro or a Con and get hold of a double kayak or canoe and get out there and pretend to race. If you can't find a double, tie two boats together.

Pizes for the best dressed.

The paddling will be followed by a party in the club rooms. The usual BBQ ($5) and BYO drinks, music and Karaoke, warm up those vocals, go through the old rubbish in your wardrobe and get on down.

As usual be ready to paddle from about 6 pm. Be ready to party from about 7 and be ready to party on till late. Bring your family and friends down for the party.

Saturday Morning Paddles to Point Walter – On-going

A great pastime for many members is to have a Saturday morning paddle followed by Coffee/Tea/Muffins/Cakes/Breakfast/Fruit Salad (had to throw that one in and sound health conscious) at the Point Walter Cafe (they have tables permantly reserved for us).

Most people paddle from the club (or some other entry point) from around 9.30 – 10 and there's usually someone at table 64 from about 10.30 am. Come and go as you please. Head straight over to the sand bar or do a 3 km, 6 km or 12 km paddle, whatever you like.

For new members guided paddles will become a regular event. If you haven't paddled accross the river before, or are not so confident paddling on your own please wait for a guided paddle, which will be led by a qualified instructor (the river can get rough and there are a lot of motor boats and ferries on the river at this time of year).

Canoe Polo Gear & Trailer Stolen!

Nearly all of PCPC's equipment has been stolen! The club trailer (fully loaded with 5 Daggers, 5 Acrobats, paddles, spraydecks etc) was stolen from Benny's house on the weekend.

Please keep an eye out for the gear on the river/ocean. Let your friends know. Polo kayaks are very distinctive (look for the bumpers!) and there are not many of them in Perth.

If you see a suspicious ad in the local community paper/ Quokka/West Australian/Sunday Times then let me know. Drop into your local Cash Converters /pawnbrokers over the next few weeks. Again, let Mark know ASAP if you see the gear (mb 0407 426 183, wk 9346 3333, hm 9242 4267).
