Instructor led Point Walter Coffee Paddle first Saturday of the month

Point Walter social coffee paddle is now running, first Saturday of each month, as an instructor led paddle. The paddle is approx 3km, to Chidley Point and Blackwall Reach, then to the coffee shop and return to club by noon approximately.

Come along, see the route we take, drink some coffee and meet other club paddlers.

Please check on the calender for the instructor taking your trip, and phone them prior to the event to let them know you are coming along. Bring some warm clothing in the winter.

Friday Night Social Paddle – Winter Series Announced

These paddles are aimed at novice and inexperienced SCC paddlers and will be lead by qualified instructors.

They will be held on the third Friday of each month, until about October or when the sea breeze makes conditions lively. We may then make it a confidence paddle for novices.

Paddlers wishing to attend must call the designated instructor a week before the paddle.

Paddlers must wear a PFD, paddle boots and have a white light that can be seen from 360 degrees.

Paddlers need to be at the club by 5:30 pm at the latest, to get a boat and equipment sorted out. Club paddles, craft and PFD's may be used.

There will be a briefing at 5:50 pm with a view to being on the water at 6:10 pm - the paddle should last for about 1 hour.

The first paddle will be Friday June 16 and will be lead by Ian Garthwaite – a highly experienced instructor.
