The trip: A pleasant flatwater paddle, along the scenic Moore River. Paddle time 4km approx, you should have your Intro to Kayaking award or be a known paddler. Suitable for all paddler levels.

Bring: boat, paddle, PFD, footwear, sunnies, suntan cream, and a bit of food. Most boats suitable e.g.sea kayak, ski, 415, Finn, but talk to Gisela for clarification.

Blackwood River Trip

The trip: A picturesque two day paddle down the Blackwood River, camping Friday and Saturday night beside the river. The river has grade 1 & 2 rapids. You should be able to kayak for a whole day, with a few breaks of course.

Skills required: Preferably have completed an Intro to Whitewater course or hold an A.C Whitewater award. Contact Colin Priest for details.

What to bring: Your boat, all paddling gear incl. helmet and PFD (a must on white water), boots, spray deck, camping gear, all provisions including drinking water for two days of camping and a sense of humour.

The trip: a paddle from Guilford up to Hougton’s riverside winery. Lunch, tastings ( $5 cost) for those who’d like to try the wine, and a peaceful hour or so under the jacaranda trees. A slow and peaceful paddle back middle of the afternoon. A 12 km return paddle, suitable for all but you should be a known kayaker or have done our Intro to Kayaking course

What to bring: boat, PFD and boots, your lunch or Houghton’s can supply a variety of lovely cafe food. Sunscreen, sunnies, hat. Mellow attitude.
