 THE BLACKWOOD PADDLE

Friday 4th November to Sunday 6th November 2011.
This annual SCC Blackwood River, weekend camp is water level dependent and it looks like there will be good water this year.
The paddle usually involves paddling long scenic flat water sections and the occasional grade 1 to 2 rapids between Sue’s Bridge and Chapman Pool.
Most people meet at the campsite (to be advised) on Friday night, ready to paddle on Saturday morning from Sue’s Bridge about 17km to the Hut Pool weir.
In the past we have paddled a further 4km to the Shep Rd campsite, but this year we may stop at the weir and return to camp.
Sunday would then be an 11km paddle from the weir to Chapman Pool.
Paddlers need to have completed the Introduction to White Water course or have equivalent experience.
Please contact Geoff Emery 0403 604 082 or gnhemery@bigpond.net.au if you’re interested.

Thanks Gerry and feel free to hold back the Moore River and Blackwood info for the next newsletter if you want to. (Assuming it comes out in early October.)
If you have a set date for the newsletter, let me know and I’ll try and write a note about upcoming trips. Alternatively send me an email before the newsletter is due and I’ll try and make a brief note about the next trip.
Cheers, Geoff Emery. SCC Trip Coordinator.
