Trips and Courses

Club Open Day: Sat 18th October 9am – 12 Noon

Club members please be aware that the annual Open Day is taking place next Saturday, this event is to encourage members of the public to come along and give kayaking a try. We also give them the option to undergo a dry and wet induction and become fully fledged members of SCC. To run this smoothly and get people on and off the water safely, the committee asks that unless volunteering to help with the day, that current members please paddle before 9am and after 1pm (gives us tie to clear up) and all club boats are made available for the event.
A copy of the poster can be found on the SCC facebook page, in the last newsletter sent on 5th October and hopefully if technology has not failed the editor attached to this email (if not there apologies). As stated previously, please feel free to print out or email and share with your workplace, freinds and anyone you know who has a yen to get on the water..

Junior’s Fundraising Quiz Night
From the Junior Slalom paddlers:

We are writing to thank you for your generous support for our recent fundraising quiz night at the Swan Canoe Club. The evening was a great success with about three thousand dollars being raised toward sending some of the kids to compete and train in New Zealand this December!

The winning table were delighted to get an SOS voucher, and the bidding was hot on many of the items like the Mainpeak paddle, and the Rockface vouchers.  Terry’s CDU  bag of canoe prizes were popular too.

Thankyou to all who attended and to the sponsors who included: Canoeing Down Under, Mainpeak, WASO, SOS Surf, Mosmans, Vanilla Bean and Vdub repairs.

Club Trips and Courses:

Unfortunately, following Australian Canoeings’s update of all State and Club websites a lot of info has gone AWOL from the website including events on the calendar this will be rectified ASAP.
