Use of Clubrooms and keyfobs by non-members – a member suspended

Late last year we had another incident where a member clearly broke some of our rules, and his membership has been suspended pending further investigations. This person lent their keyfob to others who then proceeded to use the clubrooms and toilets while partying on the lawn outside the club.  The Club has had defend itself with the Town of Mosman after complaints were made about this ‘Club event’.

Club Rules

This incident plus the recent report of a group of non-members using Club equipment illegally has meant your Committee has decided our rules need to be more clearly and more regularly spelt out to members. You will see signs of this soon…

Building works commence on 13th Feb

Big changes are about to start on the clubrooms after we received Council approval: the stairwell will be widened and a wheelchair stair lift installed, and the long awaited expanded balcony and alfresco area created.
This will cause disruptions to the use of the upstairs room and BBQ, and there will be a period of 3-4 days when paddling will be permitted for safety reasons while the flooring is replaced above – we will email you much closer to that disruption. Some exploratory work started today so don’t be concerned about some large holes in the walls.

We can reduce the cost with volunteers helping with the demolition, so please contact president@swancanoeclub.org.au if you would like to assist.
