Sea Kayak Paddle from Coogee Marina to Swan Canoe Club

Sunday 25th October 2020

This paddle is suitable for members who have, as a minimum, basic sea kayaking skills.

You will need a suitable sit in sea kayak and all the necessary safety gear.

This is a joint paddle with Swan Canoe Club and the Sea Kayak Club WA. It will give both club members the opportunity to meet other club members who have a common interest in sea kayaking. Come along and meet club members that actually enjoy talking and hearing about sea kayaking.

Starting at Coogee Marina we will head north, passing the statue of CY O’Connor and then into Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour. After a quick look around, we will head to the Fremantle Port entrance and then back along the Swan River to SCC. Approx. 16km.

Members and partners of both clubs are invited to a BYO BBQ lunch at the club after the paddle.

As this is a one-way trip, it would be helpful if you can arrange to get dropped off at Coogee Marina and picked up at the club afterwards.

Sea Kayaking Instructor

To book a place on this paddle please contact; Colin cag2@westnet.com.au

Bookings close on 21st October.

SCC Paddle Rally
Nov 22 @ 2:30 pm – 4:45 pm

The Swan Canoe Club Social Committee Presents:

SCC Paddle Rally

Arrive 2.30pm, Briefing 3.00pm, On water 3.15pm

Following the one hour paddle event enjoy BYO drinks and nibbles on the balcony and watch the presentation of the inaugural trophy to the winner around 4:30pm

For those of us old enough to remember the good old days of car rallies, this is a paddle rally. Each competitor (can be an individual, couple or family) will be given a set of clues at the briefing then must jump in their paddle craft and find the answers. Points awarded for correct answers and time taken. No paddling expertise required – all answers found within the boundary of Chidley Point and within 50 metres of shore.

All rally equipment provided – just wear what you usually wear paddling (but maybe bring your reading glasses….)

Pre-Registration with Marion is essential.
