Broke Inlet Trip
Jan 23 – Jan 26 all-day

AUSTRALIA DAY LONG W’END – BROKE INLET TRIP
SATURDAY 23/1/21 – TUESDAY 26/1/21

Broke Inlet is a large and scenic estuary near Walpole within the
D’Entrecasteau National Park on the south coast, about 400km
from Perth.

Using sea kayaks we will be self-sufficient and plan
to camp in seclusion for 3 nights on the far side of the inlet. Day
paddle options will include exploring the inlet’s islands and
tributary rivers, or heading down to the ocean outlet for a swim.

You will need a reasonable level of fitness for this fun trip, and
should have completed an Introduction to Sea Kayak course
with the club, or have equivalent skills.

SCC Guided Paddle and BBQ

Friday 19th February from 5pm

Calling new and old members and anyone in-between!

SCC are hosting a Guided Paddle for anyone who fancies a Friday evening on the river with support people to show you the ropes. If you are a confident paddler, you can be that support person or just come along for the fun and the free BBQ afterwards.

Regular Friday Fitness and Race Training will be commence at 5.30pm and competent paddlers are invited to join this peer paddle. It’s self paced and self monitored in a 3km circuit to Chidley Point. You’re only racing against yourself and this is a great way to get fit so if you haven’t given the Friday evening paddle a try now is a good time to start.

At 6.30 pm Committee Member Kerry Hughes will be going through the set-up and care of some of the faster Club boats.

At 6.45 pm Julia Davies, the Club President will show us how to use the ERGO exercise machine upstairs to practise technique and improve fitness.

Come along for the Guided Paddle, Fitness and Race Training, Club talks or just to enjoy a sunset BBQ (served from 7.00 pm).

All welcome, new members particularly encouraged
