Sunday 9th November 2008.

Looking for something else to do after all the white water training, want to maintain your fitness, then why not start training for some flat water events.

This race, (done in pairs) is approximately 19kms in length, and each pair must paddle the whole distance together in individual SINGLE crafts. The result being the partnership that works best together will come out on top.

All pairs must remain together (within 20 metres at all times) i.e. wash-ride their way to the finish. Times will be taken as the second paddler in the pair crosses the finish line. No pair may wash-ride another pair or any power craft at any time during the event.

Enter by emailing for an entry form to sammy_pilton@hotmail.com or download an entry form from the AKC website.

Cost per paddler: $10.00 for CWA members and $15.00 for non-members. Late entries: $20.00. Payment can be made on the day or by presenting the form and entry fee to Leonie at the AKC on Wednesday evenings between 5.00 and 5.30pm. Entries must be in no later than 5.30 pm 5th November.

Pairs will be started at intervals of 2 minutes similar to down river races.

Registration: 7.30 to 8:30am at Barrett Street, Herne Hill with a race briefing at 8.45am. Start time will be at 9.00am.

Finish line is at the ASCOT KAYAK CLUB. A BBQ will be awaiting the last paddlers in.
