Rob Fry Memorial Race 2rd April – please race or be a volunteer

Our annual race to Fremantle and return on Sunday 2rd April– please get involved to help make it a big success.  Registrations are open now here, and don’t forget we have a Recreational class again this year for casual paddlers – no first place but prizes.

To volunteer for one of the 30 or so jobs it takes to run this race (registration, timing, spotting, safety, food, prize donations etc), please email Lee at nimbuwah@bigpond.com .

State Marathon Champs – helpers needed: Sat 25th March

A couple of helpers are required out at Ascot in the morning – call Doug on 0417 938 596 if you can assist.

White Barracuda Interface Missing

Does anyone know where our white Interface sea kayak has gone – it was out for repairs but was returned to the racks a few weeks ago?

Building works progress

The enhancements are progressing well but a week or two slower than planned – rain and some slack workmanship in the old building have not helped. The stairs are missing at present and the new ones should be in place by the end of next week. It is hoped that all will be done in two weeks, maybe sooner. Many thanks to those who came down to help with the demolition. The hot water is available again.

Four Swan Juniors in National Junior Slalom Team

Congratulations to Alexandria Choate, Kira Wall, Louis Richardson and Billie Knell for their selection in the Australian Junior Canoe Slalom Team following the recent national selection races.

Mosman Park Fair – 26th March: volunteers please

We are again promoting the Club at the local Fair Sunday week, 12-5pm, and would appreciate members attending our stall for an hour to talk to the public – please call Peter if you can come for an hour or two: ph 0419 904 168.

Osprey Nest Gone

‘Our’ osprey nest about 200m south of the club has fallen to the ground when its tuart tree limb broke recently. Since the birds created it about five years ago we have seen one to three chicks raised each year – very sad!
