Guppies Paddling for Children Program

GUPPY PADDLING FOR CHILDREN

This year, Swan Canoe Club is running a guppy program.

Guppies are flat water racing kayaks for children under 12 years old.  They are stable compared to sprint kayaks, but are shaped to allow proper flatwater technique to be learnt.  Children who can paddle a guppy with confidence usually transition to sprint kayaks relatively easily when they are older.

Classes are held on Thursday afternoons, and are run by accredited coach and 2000 Olympian, Amanda Simper.  Term two classes begin on 9 May, and run for 8 weeks.  The cost is $150 (less membership if applicable).

If you would like to enrol, or want further information, please phone Amanda on 0404 883 996.

Roller Doors DAMAGE!

Some careless members are damaging the roller door guides with their boats as they exit the doors.

The result is that the doors don’t close or open properly, and may result in the motors failing.

Please exit through the doors with more care and ensure your boat NEVER touches the sides of the doors.
