The Swan Canoe Club Social Committee Presents:
Arrive 2.30pm, Briefing 3.00pm, On water 3.15pm
Following the one hour paddle event enjoy BYO drinks and nibbles on the balcony and watch the presentation of the inaugural trophy to the winner around 4:30pm
For those of us old enough to remember the good old days of car rallies, this is a paddle rally. Each competitor (can be an individual, couple or family) will be given a set of clues at the briefing then must jump in their paddle craft and find the answers. Points awarded for correct answers and time taken. No paddling expertise required – all answers found within the boundary of Chidley Point and within 50 metres of shore.
All rally equipment provided – just wear what you usually wear paddling (but maybe bring your reading glasses….)
Pre-Registration with Marion is essential.
Swan Marathon and Race Training series (SMaRTs)
Come down for a social race of 3, 6, 12 or 18 km towards Fremantle most Friday evenings. Competition is against yourself as you try to better your previous times. It’s not about beating others, it’s about beating the clock and enjoying yourself and maybe having a bbq or a drink after the bash and reliving the race. Remember to carry a light in or on your boat. This is a Peer Paddle. The size of the group varies throughout the year, to confirm that races are on a specific Friday please contact the organiser Sue on suejstott1@gmail.com.
NOTE: During COVID-19 restrictions format may vary.
Point Walter Paddle happens every Saturday morning as a Peer Paddle to enjoy a coffee in East Fremantle. On any particular Saturday there may be between 0 and 20 paddlers.
Once a month a trained instructor leads the paddle (Guided Paddle) to show newbies how to safely navigate this sometimes hazardous stretch of water. Please contact Bob on bobcoops4071@gmail.com to register for the guided paddle.
